Three rejections. One phone call.

Every rejection code has a specific fix. Tell us what you're seeing and we'll walk you through exactly what happens next.

AGI Mismatch Rejection

Reject code: IND-031-04 / IND-032-04

The prior-year AGI you entered doesn't match what the IRS has on file. Review the tax year, the person named in the rejection and the identity-verification entry before resubmitting.

  • We review your prior-year return and available IRS records with you
  • We help correct the identity-verification entry using the appropriate records
  • Your paid preparer signs the return and includes their own PTIN; RefundIQ provides e-file submission services
  • Check the IRS acknowledgment after resubmission; acceptance and timing are not guaranteed

Missing or Invalid IP PIN

Reject code: IND-181-01 / IND-180-01

The IRS issued you an Identity Protection PIN but your return was filed without it, or the one you entered doesn't match. Without the correct IP PIN, the IRS will reject every submission.

  • We guide you through retrieving your current-year IP PIN from the IRS
  • We enter the current calendar year’s IP PIN for the correct person
  • We refile electronically and monitor for acceptance
  • If you cannot retrieve it, we explain the applicable IRS recovery and filing options

1095-A Marketplace Rejection

Reject code: F8962-070

If you or a dependent had a Marketplace health plan, the IRS requires Form 8962 reconciled against your 1095-A. Filing without it — or with mismatched numbers — triggers an automatic rejection.

  • We help you locate or retrieve your 1095-A from healthcare.gov
  • We complete Form 8962 and reconcile advance premium credits
  • We review whether correction and resubmission or a different filing step is appropriate
  • We handle any under/overpayment of premium tax credits

Answers

Questions before you call.

Call or leave a message with your question. Our team will follow up during staffed hours.

Is RefundIQ actually legitimate?

RefundIQ is an IRS-authorized e-file provider. Our paid tax return preparers hold active Preparer Tax Identification Numbers (PTINs). A PTIN identifies an individual preparer; it is not a CPA or enrolled-agent credential. Ask about the qualifications of the preparer assigned to your return.

How much does it cost?

Clients who owe taxes pay the preparation fee upfront. Clients who do not owe taxes have no upfront preparation payment. Preparation fees still apply; we explain the total fee and payment arrangement before filing. Any fee deducted from a refund reduces the amount received.

Why is your refund amount different from what I saw in TurboTax?

The difference is usually why you were rejected in the first place. Consumer software can trigger credits or miss updates that professional-grade tools catch. Your final number reflects what the IRS will actually accept.

Is my information safe over the phone?

Contact our team for document-submission instructions. Do not include full Social Security numbers, IP PINs, bank details or a complete tax return in an ordinary website message.

How long until I actually see my refund?

Once we refile, the IRS typically issues direct-deposit refunds within 10–21 days. We monitor acceptance and notify you immediately if anything else needs attention.

What if my return is already past the deadline?

We can still help. Late returns can be filed and, in most cases, you're still owed your refund — there's no late penalty when you're getting money back. Call us and we'll walk through your specific situation.

Don't Wait

Your refund is sitting with the IRS.
